What is involved?

This course includes the full range of routine tyre fitting procedures. It provides the essential knowledge and skills for specialist tyre fitters, working on a wide range of vehicles, in all types of garages, dealerships and specialist tyre depots.
It provides learners with the opportunity to study both the theory and practical aspects of inspection, repairing and replacing some of the following:

  • high performance light vehicle tyres
  • commercial vehicle tyres
  • motorcycle tyres
  • plant equipment tyres
  • industrial equipment tyres
  • carrying out light vehicle four-wheel alignment
  • assessing and securing a roadside situation

Learners will also gain a broad knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the workplace, agreeing customer vehicle needs and other skills associated with working in a garage.


What will my career options be?

You could progress on to a Level 3 Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair course or gain employment in the motor vehicle industry

What do I need?

All applicants will complete an assessment or short interview with a tutor
