What is involved?

You will learn in a variety of ways. There will be group discussions, presentations, independent study, and written assignments. You will practise reading, writing, speaking and listening in a vocational context. You will receive feedback on a presentation and a written assignment you have produced. You will also have the opportunity to learn and develop exam strategies. By the end of the course you will be able to: • interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity • understand the main ideas of a complex text on concrete topics • produce a clear detailed text on a wide range of subjects • produce a personal statement • initiate discourse, help discussion, confirming comprehension, inviting contributions sometimes using complex forms Your teacher will mark your work and give feedback. Your teacher will also monitor your progress and discuss methods to meet your learning needs and for achieving your course aims and your targets. You will also sit an end of term assessment

What will my career options be?

Progression to a Vocational Programme (e.g. Health and Social Care, Care and or Early Years) or L2 ESOL at the college. Please see college prospectus for a range of other courses. A short assessment will be required to ensure the next course is suitable for you.

What do I need?

Once we have received your application you will be given a date for an assessment workshop. All applicants must attend the workshop and sit an initial assessment test.
