What is involved?

This is a one year full time Diploma course that provides you with the opportunity to seek entry to higher education courses in a range of subject areas. The course integrates a broad range of modules within the Health and Social Care curriculum to create a diverse programme of study. The modules explore Social Policy, Health and Illness, Social work, Inclusivity, Disability Awareness, Safeguarding children and many others. You will also study core skills modules which will prepare you for further study in this field. In addition, you will have the opportunity to take part in a work experience placement within the Health and Social Care sector.

Work Experience opportunity

As part of the programme you will conduct continuous work placement in a Health and Social Care environment. This will allow you to apply your theoretical knowledge into a practical work setting.

Support Tutorials

Group and one to one tutorials are set up on the programme to further assist you with successfully completing the course. Support tutorials are at flexible times to meet your needs. This could occur during the daytime and evenings.


What will my career options be?

  • Progress on to an Undergraduate Degree at university.
  • Gain work based employment within the Health and Social Care sector
