What is involved?

Learners will undertake study in the following units:

  • The Context of Further Education
  • Education Studies
  • E-skills in the Learning Environment
  • Assessment for Learning
  • Planning for Learning to Support an Inclusive Learning Environment
  • Classroom Management in the Lifelong Learning Sector
  • Learning Difficulties and Disabilities
  • Academic Writing Skills
  • E-skills in the Learning Environment
  • Communications - Reading and Writing
  • Mathematics (Statistics)
  • Research Project

What will my career options be?

Most learners upon completion of an Access to Higher Education Diploma progress to higher education.
Upon completion of the Education and Teaching diploma you could progress onto:
  • Education Degree
    (Please bear in mind that for Primary and Secondary education degrees you must have GCSE English and Math at Grade C as well as GCSE science if you would like to pursue primary teaching)
  • PGCE (if you already have a subject specific degree)
  • Early Years Studies
  • Health and Social Care
  • Social Work

What is the cost?

The Home fee is £3384 (plus £105 Exam fee)
If you are 19-23 and this is your first level 3 qualification than the diploma is usually free (based on fee assessment).

If you have already undertaken a Level 3 you could be eligible for an advanced learning loan which will cover the cost of your course.

If you progress onto higher education and complete your course you will not have to pay back your loan (please seek guidance from student finance England/Advanced learning loan).

What do I need?

Due to the intensive nature of the course learners will need to have:
  • GCSE English and Math at grade C
  • Full level 2 qualification
  • Online English and Math assessment results of Level 2
  • Written English assessment
