Equality, Diversity & Inclusion

The College’s mission is to invest in and provide open-access, flexible, lifetime learning, creating an inclusive environment for students.

Our Commitment

The College is committed to creating and sustaining a positive and supportive working environment for our staff, and an excellent teaching and learning experience for our students. As a provider of employment and education, we value the diversity of our staff and students. We perceive bullying, harassment and victimisation of any individual as contradictory to our aspirations for a supportive working environment and will not be tolerated. Any allegations of such behaviour will be investigated, and ultimately disciplined, in accordance with the College policies.

We value diversity and we recognise that different people bring different perspectives, ideas, knowledge and culture and that this difference brings great strength. We believe that discrimination or exclusion based on individual characteristics and circumstances, such as age; disability; caring or dependency responsibilities; gender or gender reassignment, identity or expression; marriage and civil partnership status; political opinion; pregnancy and maternity; race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin; religion or belief; sexual orientation; socio-economic background; trade union membership status or other distinctions, represents a waste of talent and a denial of opportunity for self-fulfilment.

We expect commitment and involvement from all our staff, students, partners and providers of goods and services in working towards the achievement of our vision.

You can view the College’s staffing profile in our Equality & Diversity Annual Report.

The College complies with Section 54 part 6 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. You can read our slavery and human trafficking policy statement.
