About The Open University
Most of the courses offered by NUC are delivered in collaboration with our partner The Open University. Through its Royal Charter, The Open University (OU) is able to validate programmes offered by institutions such as Newham College University Centre that do not have their own degree awarding powers. Currently there are over 40,000 students in the UK and worldwide registered on programmes validated by the OU.
Through our partnership with the OU we have the flexibility to create and deliver courses to meet your needs, and teach them in our well supported learning environment. Central to this is the ‘validation’ process whereby all aspects of our management and delivery of degree programmes, including staffing, course content, assessment methods, reading lists etc, have been scrutinised against national
standards and benchmarked by external peer review.
The OU demonstrates their confidence in higher education at Newham College University Centre by attaching their name to the courses we develop and deliver here; so as a student you graduate with the
prestige of an Open University degree.
