Newham College rated Good in latest Ofsted inspection

The report from Newham College’s OFSTED inspection, which took place at Newham College from 26th – 29th April, has now been published. The Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills (Ofsted) addresses education standards all over the country. The report found that Newham College was ‘Good’ in all nine areas of inspection.

Transnational Work Placement Results in Employment for Newham College Student

Newham College Travel & Tourism student, Ali Jeilan, recently completed a transnational placement, which has led to employment. Ali was one of 19 students who spent 2 weeks in Spain doing work experience that was arranged between the College and various employers in the travel and tourism sector.

Newham College National Cricket Champions

The Newham College Cricket team have won the AoC Cricket National finals. This officially makes them the best College Cricket Team in England. This celebratory achievement follows an unbeaten league season and regional victory last month.

Newham College Launches ESOL Centre of Excellence

Newham College has established a Centre of Excellence in Vocational English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), as English is not the first language of 80% of its students. The new Centre of Excellence incorporates the services of various departments and will provide a route into community integration, vocational courses and sustainable employment.

International Women's Day at Newham College

Newham College celebrated International Women’s day with multiple events. A host of guest speakers visited the East Ham Campus and addressed compelling issues that affect women on a global scale. A group of female students also met with Newham Council’s mayoral adviser for domestic and family violence, Cllr Lakmini Shah at the town hall.

Newham College’s former Prince’s Trust student, Laine Esperanzate has won a national award for overcoming barriers and developing new skills. The Prince's Trust and Samsung Celebrate Success Awards 2016 honoured the achievements of young people supported by The Trust.
