Skills for Jobs works with employers by providing them with skilled job ready candidates. We work with local unemployed people , provide tailored employablity training and then work with employers to fill their vacancies. We provide training that leads to relevant vocational qualifications that includes:

Basic Food hygiene
First Aid
CSCS cards
SIA Licence

Case study:
Sally, a 37 year old housewife and mother of two young children under the age of ten had been unemployed for over 10 years and previously worked as a travel agent. Sally registered on the Skills for Jobs 6 week programme which helped her to improve and develop new skills in administration; she attended ICT training, the Welcome Host Certificate in Customer Service course as well as other administrative certificates. In addition Sally was given specialist help with her CV, interview techniques, advice on employability skills and job search techniques.
After a few weeks on the course Sally’s confidence improved, and she expressed her enjoyment in making new friends and gaining new skills. By the end of the training Sally was more proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, email, database and customer care. With help from Businessworks, Sally now works as an Administrative Assistant in a local education and training organisation.
