One of the reasons these partnerships work well is the development of appropriate modules within the College's highly innovative NewCAD credit based curriculum framework, providing tailored content and flexibility into which employers have direct input. Top of Page Working with top employers Some of the largest and most successful employers in the country trust us to train their staff. Household names like The Ford Motor Company, British Gas, Royal Mail, Thames Water, Vodafone, Virgin Trains, London Underground, British Telecom, Orange, Docklands Light Railway, the NHS and several London boroughs. We offer tailor-made programmes, either at the College or on the employers' own premises. Several of our courses include work experience as part of the programme. Many of our staff have business or industrial experience, which helps to prepare our students for the world of work. Our engineering courses are taught by engineers, for example, our graphic design courses by professional designers and our business courses by people with commercial backgrounds. Top of Page Our partners The College has forged strong links with an extensive range of private sector employers and external agencies. These include the Prince of Wales Trust, Stratford Development Partnership and the 2012 committee. There are also very strong links with Newham Chamber of Commerce, which is based within the College's Green Street Business Support and Training Centre, other local employer groups such as the Ethnic Minority Business Association and the East London Asian Business Association. We also have extensive international links and a wealth of corporate partners who contribute significantly to our ability to develop innovative training support and learning tools. Top of Page Industry initiatives The College is highly regarded as a leader in identifying skills gaps within industry sectors and has achieved Centre of Vocational Excellence status in five sectors as recognition of its work in this area. These include extensive work with sector skills councils and grass roots industry support to make sure that any work undertaken for industry sectors directly impacts in a positive way on the economy of the local area.
