Want to know more about all the study areas IT has to offer? This new Diploma is for you. Explore all the different subject areas of IT from designing new business solutions to developing websites.

What is the Diploma Worth?
The IT Diploma is offered at three Levels at Newham College:

• Foundation Diploma equivalent to 5 GCSE grades D-G
• Higher Diploma equivalent to 7 GCSE grades A*-C
• Advanced Diploma equivalent to 3.5 A Level grades A*-E

A Little Bit of Everything IT
During the Diploma you will learn:

• Business: how organisations work and the role technology can play.
• People: how to work well with other people.
• Technology: how to create technology solutions.

In addition to these areas, you will learn how to design and develop a multimedia product for a particular audience.

On the course you will:

• Create technology solutions, like for a charity, a sports mini-league or a band.
• Learn about the roles of IT professionals.
• Explore how technology transforms society.

The Mixing Desk
You will take compulsory units which will develop your understanding and knowledge of the subject. You must also complete courses in English, Maths and ICT. An optional course will make up the rest of your Diploma. For your optional courses, you can choose a specialist course which will extend your knowledge of your Diploma or a completely different subject.

What Could This Diploma Lead To?
The Diploma will give you the skills you need for either university or work.

This Diploma could lead you to a university degree in computing, computer networking, information systems, business and information technology, computer games software, multimedia or graphic design. It could also help you to begin a career as an IT professional,  business manager or entrepreneur.

You might choose to use the skills you have learnt in this diploma to go into a different area of study or employment sector.
