Exam Results
Newham College’s students celebrated excellent A Level results in 2008. Almost all students taking their exams at the College were successful and the overall A2 pass rate was 95%. Students achieved a 100% pass rate at A2 in 11 out of the 17 subjects taken.

The College has continued to maintain its high level of performance in A Levels with a significant number of students achieving exceptional individual results. This is particularly impressive because Newham College maintains an open-access policy and accepts students onto A Level courses from a wide variety of backgrounds.

The results confirm that the Young People’s Academy at Newham College offers the best opportunity for young people, from all backgrounds, to succeed.

The 14-19 Diplomas at Newham College
The Diploma will give you in depth knowledge about your chosen area of study. It’s different to GCSEs and A Levels as you get a valuable mix of class work and hands on experience. This September Newham College will be running 8 Diplomas both at our East Ham and Stratford Campus.

Diploma Residential

The students who started the Diploma in September, 2008 where treated to a fun, challenging and life changing experience. They visited Danbury Outdoors in Essex for their residential. Students had the opportunity to try activities they would have never had the opportunity to partake in their day to day lives e.g. Kayaking, Archery and the Aerial Runway. All of these activities were a testament to their determination and their ability to work as a team. The residential also gave the students a chance to get to know each other and build friendships.

The Diploma Residential will form part of your induction to any of the eight 14-19 Diplomas you enrol on at Newham College.

Did You Know That?

ZEN
Newham College has a retail outlet in Stratford Mall called ZEN. They sell clothing for both men and women. Students who enrol on our retail courses see retail in action at the store and also have the opportunity to attend lectures in our lecture room upstairs the shop.

The Salon
Newham College runs The Salon on the High Street, East Ham where members of the public can make appointments to get there hair done. The Salon employs professional stylists and it trains its apprentices up to the Advanced Level 3 qualification.

Avante Garde
There is a professional nail bar Avante Garde in our East Ham Campus where members of the public can make appointments for manicures, pedicures and facials.

FTM
Newham College has a Fashion and Textiles Museum at Bermondsey, South London. If you are a student of the college, you can participate in lectures and exhibitions held at the Museum.

We also have fantastic facilities for IT, Computing, Construction, Engineering and
A Levels at our Stratford Campus.
