Student Enrichment AreaThe atmosphere at Newham College of Further Education is very different from school. To help make the most of the diverse range of social activities, clubs and events that form part of the Recreation (Enrichment programme) here at the College we have a dedicated area where we organise a wealth of activities. ‘Access for All’ The Student Enrichment areas are open from 10am-4pm and offer the following facilities:
Clubs and Societies Students have the opportunity to set up a club and get together with like-minded people on a regular basis. They can apply to the Students’ Union for funding to purchase equipment for your club or fund speakers etc. Clubs formed to date include: Islamic Society Christian Society Women’s only Club … and many more. Come to the Student Enrichment Area to pick up an application form. Course Representatives A course representative is a student elected by their class to represent the views of their classmates to the Student Union and College Managers. You are provided with the opportunity to make recommendations for change and to get your voice heard at the highest level. Becoming a course rep is a very responsible job and will benefit you in many ways – now and in the future. You have to attend training and a termly council meeting, which will help you gain lots of skills and you will be awarded a certificate at the end of the year which can be added to your National Record of Achievement. For further information please contact the Student Staff Liaison Officer (SSLO) Kim or the Enrichment team, Ida and Sunny. ![]() ![]() |
