Vtalentyear - a volunteering opportunity

If you're aged between 16 and 25 and interested in an apprenticeship at Newham College, vtalentyear is the ideal opportunity.
 
Successful applicants will get the opportunity to be placed in College Departments working with staff and students, performing a variety of roles from supporting departments to mentoring students and setting up their own project within the College community.
 
Past placements have seen successful applicants help to run the Sports department, Student Life, Pre 16, Student Independent Study and setting up Newham College Community Radio and become part of the student body while taking a lead on projects that benefit the whole College community.

Through the programme, volunteers will receive:

• Training and support in the College department they are assigned to

• Level 2 Qualification

• Help with travel and other expenses

• Access to a Personal Development Grant of £1500 to support a move to further education, training and employment on completing the vTalent Year

Placements are for 30 hours a week starting in September 2010 and will run for 44 weeks.
