The government has announced some drastic funding cuts, which now pose a threat to the future of further education for adults. Proposed cuts of 24% for the academic year of 2015-16 could lead to a loss of over 400,000 college students within the space of twelve months. The consequence of this would mean that huge numbers of adults would not be able to afford the cost of improving their education and developing new skills.
