This website is designed to be accessible to as many users as possible and to meet or exceed current UK accessibility legislation.

This statement applies to content published on the main Newham College domain at It does not apply to content accessed via any subdomains which will have separate accessibility statements.

This website is run by Newham College. The college is committed to providing an accessible web presence that gives members of the public and members of the college community full access to college information, courses and activities offered publicly through the web. Our aims

In order to ensure that all of our visitors can use this website, these pages aim to meet Level-AA standard of WCAG 2.1. This includes elements such as:

  • Navigating most of the website with just a keyboard or speech recognition tools
  • Navigating the website using a screen reader
  • Using content that is structured, ordered and labelled appropriately and text which is simple to understand
  • Including alt text for all images and providing non-visual alternatives where appropriate
  • Ensuring that subtitles are included with all audiovisual information

How accessible is this website?

We are aware that some parts of our website are not fully accessible:

  • Some PDF documents are not fully accessible to screen reader software
  • While all audio on videos is subtitled, some video content does not yet have audio or text descriptions
  • You cannot always modify the line height or spacing of text
  • There is a limit to how far you can magnify on certain pages
