Is the Course for me?

The CACHE Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning is an engaging introduction to life and work in the education sector.
Students develop knowledge and understanding by applying their learning and skills in a work-related context.
With this qualification you would generally be expected to progress into employment.

What is involved?

The course integrates a broad range of modules related to working in a school or college environment
The modules explored during your course includes understanding how to safeguard children and young people, Developing professional relationships, Supporting positive behaviour and Supporting children and young people during learning activities

This qualification requires collating a portfolio of evidence. All assessments are internally and externally verified through a range of assessment methods. Examples of assessments methods used on this programme include observations, presentations, reports and essays.

Flexibility is provided for any learner with SEN; support is available from the SEN team. The maintenance of high standards is our priority, in order to make the lessons interesting and stimulating for all learners.

Work Experience opportunity
As part of the programme you will conduct at least three block work placements and on-going one day work experience in a school or college environment. This will allow you to apply your theoretical knowledge into a practical work setting.

Enrichment Activities
A range of Enrichment activities are incorporated within the programme. Examples of Enrichment activities conducted are sport activities, workshops, outings and debates. There is also the opportunity to request other enrichment activities that you have an interest in.

I � Learning Sessions
This is additional time embedded in your programme for independent study. This time is used to work through assignments, complete homework activities and conduct wider reading and research to assist learning.

Support Tutorials
Group and one to one tutorials are set up on the programme to further assist you with successfully completing the course. Support tutorials are at flexible times to meet your needs. This could occur during the daytime and evenings.

Personal Learning Plan Sessions
A course tutor will be allocated to you on the programme. Your course tutor will be working with you to set realistic targets that will enable you to achieve. Your targets will be monitored weekly by your tutor and yourself.

Progression

Progress into employment working as a Teaching Assistant, Mentor or Education Support Worker

Course Requirements

5 GCSEs Grade A*-C including English and Maths and/or equivalent.

Initial Diagnostic Assessment has to be completed before you are enrolled; you need to achieve L2 English, diagnostic 60% or above to be accepted on to the Level 3 course. This is to ensure you are put on the right course at the right level.
