Is the Course for me?

This course is ideal for those looking to enhance their cakes making abilities. This course aims to equip you with the skills to bake and decorate a range of cakes through our hands-on programme.

What is involved?

You will explore different methods of cake making, looking at butter cakes, oil based cakes and quick cakes and then preparing and adding the toppings to your freshly baked cakes such as:

  • Victoria sponge cake
  • Lemon cake
  • Honey & spice cupcakes
  • Carrot cake
  • Rich chocolate fudge cake


On successful completion of this course you will be able to go on to one our other evening courses such as Bread making, pastry making or progress onto one of our full time catering courses.

Course Requirements

You will need an interview and be passionate about learning a new skill.
You will also need to purchase an apron.
