What is involved?
Students will gain knowledge and expertise including how to prepare, cook and finish various basic dishes with the emphasis being on cooking methods, how to maintain the health, hygiene, safety and security of the working environment, how to maintain food safety when storing, preparing and cooking food as well as customer service.These qualifications are assessed by using assignments, practical tasks, exams and/or online tests.
For the qualification you will complete practical demonstrations/synoptic exams, assignments and take a multiple choice examination.
After taking the Level 1 qualification you could move on to:
- Level 2 Professional Cookery
- Level 2 Hospitality services
- Level 2 Professional Patisserie and Confectionary
