Is the Course for me?

If you didn't get the results you hoped for at Maths GCSE and want to progress your studies, we offer a very successful Maths Evening GCSE re-sit programme. This programme provides a very sound base to progress onto further academic study, or to help gain employment. This programme is open to any student within the college who require GCSE Maths to progress in their studies. You must be registered on a Newham College course at Level 2 or Level 3 in order to enrol for this particular programme.

What is involved?

In this GSCE you will study the theory/principles of Mathematics and will gain the skills to apply this knowledge in the rest of your course and in the future. You will cover - Number, Algebra, Shapes, Space & Measurement and Data handling. Maths is an important subject in life and in all the sciences. Independent study sessions are run alongside your more formal work and, in your free time, you can use our extensive library, computer and multi-media facilities and join in a wide range of social activities. You may also be eligible for support with your studies if you have a learning difficulty or disability. This support is free to UK residents.

Progression

This is a recognised qualification that will enable you to continue your education on to more advanced programmes, or could help you gain employment.

Course Requirements

You must be registered on a Newham College course at Level 2 or Level 3 in order to enrol for this particular programme. You also need:

  • 5 GCSE passes at grade D or above in Maths or above (or Key Skills in applied communications at level 1)
  • or equivalent international qualifications - our knowledgeable team of course consultants can advise on these You will be invited to the College for an interview to make sure this is the course you need.
