If you are seeking to begin your career in the field of motor vehicle maintenance and repair, then this course is your starting point. It is designed to provide you with practical skills, knowledge and understanding of systems found on the modern motor vehicle. All the training involved in this course is delivered in a fully equipped motor vehicle workshop, so you can get hands on experience of what this industry involves.

What is involved?

You will be introduced to motor vehicle technology and workshop methods/processes. You will learn the skills that are required to carry out routine maintenance and basic repairs on motor vehicles.

Progression

Successful completion of this course will enable you to progress onto the level 2 Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair of light vehicles. Alternatively you could go straight into employment with the skills you have learned.

Course Requirements

There are no formal qualifications required, but you will need to demonstrate your desire and enthusiasm for studying in the field of motor vehicle maintenance. You also need to have skills in numeracy, written and spoken English at or above Entry Level 3.
