This is the perfect starting point if you want to carry out basic finance and administrative duties using accounting software packages.

Studying the AAT qualification will equip you with a range of basic accounting principles and techniques in computerised accounting.

Course description

Access to Accounting Software introduces the main features of accounting software along with the benefits and risks of its use.

Delivery consists of:

  • Understand the benefits and risks of using accounting software
  • Set up accounts
  • Record bank and cash transactions
  • Produce reports using accounting software

Entry requirements

A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade E/2 including English and Maths or an Entry Level 3 qualification in English and Maths.


Employment within the Accounting industry as a Cashier and/or Clerical Assistant or internal progression onto Access Award in Bookkeeping - Level 1.

Fees and funding

The course fee is £150. The course fee does not include following:

  • Cost of registration with AAT which is mandatory for each learner
  • Paying for the exam and resits (where required).
