The qualification introduces students to the role of a bookkeeper, how to understand financial documentation and learn single entry bookkeeping. It will cover the principles of cash and credit transactions and familiarise students with the use of spreadsheets in finance.

Course description

The Level 1 Award in Bookkeeping offers an introductory qualification in manual bookkeeping skills, in particular providing essential skills in single-entry bookkeeping. There are 4 units with 2 assessments:

  • Introduction to bookkeeping
  • Working within bookkeeping
  • Bookkeeping and accounts
  • Spreadsheet software

Entry requirements

No previous qualifications are required.

Progression

It will allow you to move up to further study in bookkeeping, accountancy or computerised accounts.

The course fee is TBC. AAT registration and exam fees are also payable.
