This course is intended to provide learners with a broad introduction to the business and administration sector, equipping learners with underpinning knowledge and skills specific to the sector alongside a range of transferable employability skills.

Course description

This course provides a range of introductory skills, as well as core knowledge, relevant to business and administration, alongside generic employability skills which are needed both in the business and administration sector and across other sectors.

Delivery consists of:

  • Working in business administration
  • Effective Communication at Workplace
  • Understanding Business Organisations
  • Personal Budgeting and Managing Money
  • Creating Business Documents
  • Supporting Business Meetings
  • Introduction to Self-Employment
  • Working as an Administrator
  • Searching for a Job

Additional information

Entry requirements

You will require either at least 4 GCSEs at grade 2 or above, including English and Maths or an Entry Level 3 qualification in English and Maths. We would also accept a Foundation in Business and Administration – ESOL qualification as well.


Internal progression onto our Intermediate Business and Administration course. Alternatively, you can progress directly into employment, particularly where work-based training will be offered, but it is expected that most learners will build on their skills and knowledge.

The course fee is TBC (plus exam fee).
