If you would like a career in the hospitality and catering industry but aren't quite sure which route to choose, this course will teach you basic skills and give you an overview of the industry to enable you to decide which area you want to specialise in. You will also learn how to maintain the health, hygiene, safety and security of the working environment.

As part of this qualification, you are required to produce a portfolio of evidence. A portfolio will confirm the knowledge, understanding and skills that you have learnt.
Observation of work will be carried out in a realistic working environment in both the restaurant and kitchen.

You don't need to have previous knowldege or experience of the industry but you must be keen to get your career started. ESOL lessons are a compulsory requirement for this course.
You will be required to complete a written and oral assessment at the start of the course.
Once you have completed the course, you might want to move on to Level 2 qualifications and skilled employment including apprenticeships.
The course fee is £948 plus an exam fee of £75.
