This course is suitable for those with an interest in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering and wishing to become a qualified engineer. You will learn from expert tutors who have worked in the industry and have extensive knowledge.
This course consists of core, mandatory and optional units. You will be introduced to a range of engineering aspects including:
There will be a focus on English and Mathematics ,and working safely while developing your practical skills and knowledge of the tools, equipment, principles and processes used in the engineering industry.
The course aims to develop each individual student’s potential – we will help you develop your individual skills and abilities, and help you confirm your future ambitions. You will learn theoretical and practical skills of working in the workshop and electronics lab. You will also gain knowledge in engineering principles and applications as well as work experience skills.
You will need a grade 2 or E or above in GCSE English and Mathematics. Entry Level 3 and Level 1 in Mathematics and English also accepted.
Provided you fulfil all of the course requirements, you may be able to progress onto a Level 2 engineering courses such as electrical, electronic, mechanical and aeronautical engineering, or electrical Installation. You may also proceed to advanced apprenticeship.
This course is free for 16-18s. The course fee for adults (19+) is TBC.
