This qualification has been designed to give you the knowledge and skills required to work safely on Electric/Hybrid vehicles whilst carrying out diagnostic, testing and repair activities. This may include vehicles that may have or had damage to their high energy/electrical system.
This course enables you to identify the construction and configuration of types of Hybrid Electric Vehicle, and the main dangers and hazards associated with the high voltage system when working on and around Hybrid Electric Vehicles.
It provides you with the knowledge to isolate the high voltage system on a Hybrid Electric Vehicle and work with them safely.
These qualifications could also provide the essential knowledge and skills for members of the emergency services who may attend an accident involving a high voltage hybrid vehicle.
You should have the appropriate knowledge and skills in vehicle maintenance and repair at Level 3.
You can progress to a Level 4 Award in the Diagnosis, Testing and Repair of Electric/Hybrid Vehicles and Components or opt for employment.
