The UK’s railway is one of the safest and most intensively used rail networks in the world, with over 4.1 million passenger journeys being made across 32,000 kilometres of track in Great Britain every day. And more than 301 million tonnes of freight are transported across the network every day as well.
UK rail expertise is much valued and many overseas rail operators now look to the UK for their training and development needs. Our courses and apprenticeships provide the knowledge, understanding and skills in railway engineering and track maintenance necessary to provide solutions across the construction, maintenance and operation of a modern, high-tech railway.
Classes are taught in modern, well-equipped facilities with plenty of opportunities for hands-on learning and practical work experience.
Newham College is an accredited National Skills Academy for Rail.
