STEPS is a course for learners with special educational needs and disabilities such as behaviour emotional and social difficulties (BESD) Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), mild learning difficulties (MLD) and moderate learning difficulties (MLD) attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and opposition defiant disorder (ODD) who are working at Entry 1 to Entry 3 who want to improve their employability skills and personal social skills.

Course description

This is a BTEC vocation qualification-based course. Students will be out on one-day work-placement across Newham borough. You will be supported by job coaches during your work experience.

Entry requirements

An interview with the transition officer will be essential to enrol on the course.


Upon completion, you can progress to Supported Internship or other vocational courses across the college.
