The focus for this course is to enable you to develop the skills you need to progress in the travel industry. For learners starting out in travel & tourism services and want a basic understanding of the industry, this qualification is designed for learners who want to prepare for further learning or training in this sector.
This programme is a good introduction to a career in travel & tourism. Students will find out about the kinds of jobs involved in the industry, develop practical skills and investigate the destinations, travel and transport resources and arrangements for customers.
A range of enrichment activities are incorporated within the programme. Examples of Enrichment activities conducted are lectures by guest speakers from leading travel experts, visits to various industry leaders, trade events or seminars. You will have an opportunity to participate in internal and external events where you will be able to show case your skills.
This is additional time embedded in your programme for your study to promote independent learning. This time is used to work through assignments, complete homework activities and conduct wider reading and research.
A course tutor will be allocated to you on the programme. Your course tutor will be working with you to set realistic targets that will enable you to achieve your goals. Your targets will be monitored weekly by your tutor and yourself and actions plans and support put in place to assist you in achieving your targets.
You should have minimum of 2 GCSEs at grade 2 or above or have successfully completed an Entry Level qualification.
If you want to undertake further study, this qualification can lead to: Level 2 Diploma in Travel & Tourism Skills. Alternatively, this qualification could lead to jobs in a range of travel and tourism organisations or related industries.
The course fee is £993 (plus exam fee £75).
