This qualification covers the required skills and knowledge for preparing to work in the Travel & Tourism. It is designed to meet the needs of learners who work or want to work in the industry with a focus on customer service skills.

Course description

This course will give you the theoretical and practical skills that you need to start a career in the travel & tourism or customer service industry. On successful completion of the course you will be able to progress to Level 3 Travel & Tourism courses.

Work experience (16-18 only)

As part of the programme, you will conduct a work placement in travel and tourism sector. This will allow you to apply your theoretical knowledge into a practical work setting.

Enrichment activities

A range of Enrichment activities are incorporated within the programme. Examples of enrichment activities include lectures by guest speakers from leading travel experts and visits to various industry leaders, trade events or seminars. You will have an opportunity to participate in internal and external events where you will be able to show case your skills.

Support Tutorials (16-18 only)

Group and one to one tutorials are set up on the programme to further assist you with successfully completing the course and provide you with professional guidance and support throughout the course.

Entry requirements

You will need a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including English and Maths or a Level 1 Diploma in Travel and Tourism.

Progression

After completing this course, you can progress to a Level 3 Diploma in Travel & Tourism or employment in the industry as a customer service assistant or tourist guide.

Fees and funding

This course is free for students aged 16-18. The course fee for adults (19+) is £993 (plus an exam fee of £105).
