Are you passionate about supporting and developing the skills and knowledge of learners with SEND?

We are looking for a number of part-time, hourly paid lecturers to join our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) team. Our department delivers a range of courses that support learners with SEND to develop skills including independent living skills, communication, personal development, employability, vocational and enterprise. A commitment to working with young people/adults with additional support needs underpins all aspects of our work.

We are especially looking for SEND lectures to deliver the following curriculum areas:

  • Horticulture
  • Catering
  • Employability
  • English/Literacy (Entry Level 1 to Level 1)

Hours available include:

  • 14 hours per week (x4)
  • 19.5 hours per week
  • 16.5 hours per week
  • 22 hours per week
  • 5.5 hours per week

You will be involved in developing students’ communication, independence, employability and life skills. An interest and commitment to personalised learning, a student-centred approach and experience of working with young people and adults with learning disabilities are essential.

You will also be required to deliver the curriculum effectively through a variety of different learning strategies, communicating effectively with students and parents/carers as appropriate and providing learners with appropriate tutorial support in accordance with the programme and individual requirements.
