07 July 2021 The Girls Leadership Programme celebrated successful completion of the programme with end-of-year graduation ceremony.

The Girls Leadership Programme, run by Aurety leader Javeria, had its graduation on 29-30 June 2021. Celebrating the completion of the programme, the girls were awarded their certificates and gift vouchers by Hermine Mbweko, Student Enrichment Officer and Shu’aib Ali, Student Enrichment and Learner Voice Coordinator.

The ceremony included an introduction and gave the girls an opportunity to meet face to face with others on the programme, as the programme was virtual. The girls explained what they enjoyed and learnt from the programme as well as watch a motivational poem by Britti B called ‘Young Woman’.

The ceremony was elegant but with reduced numbers due to COVID restrictions and thoroughly enjoyed by all the students who attended. They gave great feedback about the programme and the girls are looking forward to doing something similar in the near future.

Hermine Mbweko encouraged the girls to “Be bold, know you can do anything you put your mind to and bring out the amazing qualities, which is in you already” while Shu’aib Ali urged them to “Don’t let anyone stop your dreams, not your parents and remember there’s only one you. Be proud”.
