13 October 2021 Uniformed Services students are inspired to lead social action in their communities through the programme.

Students from our Introduction to Public & Uniformed Services course were introduced to the principles of community policing and the benefits of the police cadets scheme during an industry talk with members of the Newham Volunteer Police Cadets.

During the session, the students undertook a range of fun and informative activities, discovered what it’s like to be a member of the Newham Police Cadets and learnt about how their role can make them active citizens by supporting their local community. Armed with information about the volunteering roles available as part of the scheme and the weekly meetings, 16 students signed up to join the scheme.

For young adults interested in progressing into roles including Policing, Law Enforcement & Security, Armed Forces Careers, Intelligence Services, Navy, Fire, Paramedic, Prison Service, Coastguard and the RAF, Newham College offers an Introduction to Policing and Uniformed Services course, to help you develop the knowledge and skills required to be successful.
