What is involved?

- Learners and teachers, and the teaching and learning context
- Language analysis and awareness
- Language skills: reading, listening, speaking and writing
- Planning and resources for different teaching contexts
- Developing teaching skills and professionalism
You will learn by a mixture of supervised teaching, observation of 'live' lessons taught by experienced teachers, peer observation, tutorials, and group and independent study. Successful candidates can apply for the Level 5 Additional Diploma in ESOL, or the combined ESOL/Literacy, or take a generic programme such as the Diploma in Education and Training or PGCE.
