Flexible working solutions for students, fitted around your study commitments.

The College’s Earn as You Learn (EAYL) scheme provides a range of flexible working solutions for students and supports them in finding a variety of different temporary work opportunities. EAYL work can be fitted around your study commitments to develop your skills and work experience portfolio.

Jobs can last for as little as one hour and opportunities can become available at very short notice. There are also longer-term vacancies that provide you with wide-ranging opportunities to do temporary work that does not interfere with your study commitments.

How it works

The registration process includes an induction and verification interview to confirm your availability, skills, and the types of work you are interested in. If successful, you will be notified of jobs that match your availability.

Once accepted, you are expected to arrive at your assignments on time and carry out your duties to the best of your ability. You will be assessed for your reliability and punctuality, with more work assigned to you depending on your standard of work. Failure to complete three consecutive assignments will result in you being removed from the EAYL programme.

Register now

To register, download and email the completed application form, together with your CV, to pam.juttla@newham.ac.uk, with ‘EAYL’ in the subject line.

You will be invited to attend a verification interview which should last no longer than 30 minutes. If successful, you will be asked to provide your availability times and when you would like to be contacted. The details you provide must be accurate and should be updated regularly with the EAYL management team.

For further information, please email pam.juttla@newham.ac.uk quoting ‘EAYL’ in the subject line. Students registering with EAYL are expected to comply with the terms and conditions of the programme.
