Child Care

If you have children of pre-school age and need help with your childcare while you study, you can apply for a College nursery place.

We have 65 full-time nursery places available for the use of students, who are studying on courses up to Level 3.  We take children from the age of 3 months up to the age of 4 years.  We have an on-site nursery at East Ham Campus and nurseries in close distance to Stratford Campus where College nursery places are available.  All of our nurseries are OFSTED approved at Good.  All staff are DBS checked and first aid trained.  Meals and snacks are provided.

Nursery fees are payable - £10.00 per day per child for students who are on benefit or living on a low income.  This is a subsidised nursery rate and terms and conditions apply.  The Learner Support Fund pays the remainder of the cost for the nursery place.

If you are under the age of 20 at the start of your course, you will not be eligible for a nursery place at the above rate.  You will need to apply for Care to Learn to help you pay for your nursery place.   For further information and to find out how to apply, contact the Care to Learn Team on 0800 121 8989.

If you are not eligible for a College nursery place, please speak to the Childcare Coordinator for further information about the availability of other places.  If you are studying in Higher Education, you can apply to Student Finance England for a Childcare Grant to help you meet the cost of a place.

Places are limited, so please apply as soon as you have enrolled on your course.  Nursery application forms are available in Admissions at East Ham and Stratford Campus.

If you need help or advice about childcare, please email the Childcare Coordinator or call on 020 8257 4423. You can drop in to see the Childcare Coordinator, anytime between 10.00am-12.00pm or 2.00pm-4.00pm on Monday and Tuesday at Stratford Campus and Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at East Ham Campus.
