Students' Union

The Students' Union is a democratic, representative group at Newham College that exists to represent students' views.

Every student enrolled on a course is automatically a member of the Students’ Union. That means that students are in charge of their own union.

With over 10,000 students at Newham College it would be impossible to operate and run a representative group without a small team being tasked with the job. This is where the executive officers' jobs come into place. They are a team of current students who are elected in a campus-wide ballot each year and are entrusted with representing the views of each and every student.

The Students’ Union Officers are also responsible for putting on extra-curricular trips, events, campaigns and activities. The Students’ Union works alongside, and is affiliated to, the National Union of Students (NUS) to ensure that your views are heard inside the college and the local community as well as on a national and international platform.
