This T Level is for students looking to develop the skills and knowledge needed to meet the demands of this cutting-edge industry and take those crucial first steps towards a highly sought-after career in data and database management, software or application development.

After completing this T Level programme, you’ll be job-ready and be able to go straight into employment.

Future careers and salary expectations include:

  • IT support technician: £16,000 to £35,000
  • Data analyst-statistician: £23,000 to £70,000
  • Digital marketeer: £20,000 to £50,000
  • IT network manager: £25,000 to £70,000
  • IT network engineer: £18,000 to £40,000
  • IT cloud specialist (Azure): £33,000 to £70,000

If you’d prefer to embark on further study instead, you will be able to progress onto a Newham College higher apprenticeship at Level 3 or Level 4 or higher education.

What you will learn?

  • Programming, coding, the use of data and the different platforms including physical, virtual and cloud environments used within the industry
  • Technology such as Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented Reality (AR), Blockchain and 3D printing and how they impact business
  • Legal and regulatory aspects of personal data, how it is used and how well it is stored
  • Getting to grips with the fundamentals of data and the various types of data and models used to reveal trends and patterns used to impact business decision, before completing your studies within the role of data technician in more detail.

You will embark on an extended work placement within a within an IT department or technology Company where you will be expected to complete the employer-set project.

Entry requirements

You are required to have a minimum of 5 GCSEs (including Maths) at grades 4 or above. Your placement is also subject to an interview with the Head of School. You’ll also need a Level 2 Transitional programme in Health or Healthcare Science or other Level 2 qualification.
