Newham College hosted an event promoting pathways to employment for refugees and migrants in the borough, on Wednesday 8th November.
The Education & Skills Funding Agency and the Department for Education have released findings, which show that Newham College has achieved an employer satisfaction score of 88%.
Although Sujan Sivathas only started his level 1 Travel and Tourism course at Newham College in November 2016, he has already been fast-tracked onto a level 3 BTEC Advanced Subsidiary Diploma.
Hannah Steens, who recently completed a level 2 tailoring course at Newham College has now started her career as a bespoke tailoring apprentice in Berlin.
Newham College’s Fashion and Tailoring department enjoyed a visit from Lee Dawson, Managing Director of Samuel Brothers bespoke & military tailors and Alice Burkitt from the UK Fashion and Textile Association on Thursday.
Newham College has received £127,160 in funding from Sport England to reduce the number of students who exercise for less than 30 minutes each week.
Newham College’s GCSE students were thrilled to get results that are well above the national average.
