Apprenticehip Awards mark end of National Apprenticeship Week

Newham College held its inaugural Apprenticeship Awards at the Good Hotel in London’s Royal Docks today, marking the last day of National Apprenticeship Week.

The dedicated event was organised to recognise the outstanding achievements of the many employers and apprentices enrolled on Newham College’s apprenticeship programmes. 

Over 100 businesses and apprentices attended the breakfast ceremony and a total of 16 awards were given out in a range of categories, including Accounting, Beauty Therapy, Business and Administration, Children & Young People Workforce, Engineering, Fashion & Textiles, Hospitality & Catering and Hairdressing & Beauty. 

One employer and apprentice were nominated from each sector and the awards were presented by the Newham College Apprenticeship Team. 

Winners of the Employer Awards included ICAP, Essence of Beauty, Honey’s Childminding, London College of Fashion, Indigo Trading London, Cafe Football and The Gentry Hair & Spa.

Newham College CEO & Principal, Di Gowland presented the ‘Employer of The Year Award’ to Park Communications and the first ever ‘Apprentice of the Year’ to Business & Administration Apprentice, Charles Pennington also at Park Communications.
