Apprenticeship Funding to Support Supply Chains

From April 2018, the Department of Education plan to allow levy-paying employers to transfer up to 10% of their levy funds to other employers using the apprenticeship service.

Through the apprenticeship service, employers will be able to transfer funds to other employers, including smaller businesses in their supply chain, and apprenticeship training providers.

The ability to transfer funds could support an increase in efficiency throughout supply chains and provide greater access to levy funding for small to medium enterprises.

Levy-paying employers transferring funds will have to agree the apprenticeships that are being funded with the employer receiving the funds. Employers receiving transferred funds will only be able to use them to pay for training and assessment for apprenticeship standards.
