Cooking competition sees secondary school students race to serve the finest dish

Secondary school students from St. Anne’s Enfield School and Dame Alice Owens School were invited to Newham College for a cooking competition and raced against time to serve the perfect vegetarian dish.

On the 12th of June, Newham College held a cooking competition between students from secondary schools to see which vegetarian meals were prepared the best! From the fine taste to the memorable presentation of the dishes, Judge Barry ranked the winner!

All students were given a certificate for their hard work and drive to create the best dish, but ultimately, the winning team were awarded marks because their dishes ticked all boxes:

  •         The most original dish
  •         Attractive presentation
  •         Taste
  •         Tidiness in working
  •         Skill in researching the dish
  •         Demonstrates cooking skills
  •         Utilising any left over’s in a thoughtful way with wastage reduced to a minimum.

There can only be one winner... or two! Congratulations to the winners: Radhika and Michelle

Thank you to the students from St. Anne’s Enfield School and Dame Alice Owens School for your fine crafting and effort.

We'd also like to thank the staff, students and representatives to have participated.
