Newham College Transforms Logo for LGBT+ History Month

Newham College has unveiled a rainbow-coloured version of its logo to openly display support for equality and diversity.

The new logo was revealed on 1st February to mark the beginning of LGBT+ History Month. The rainbow logo is now visible above the main entrance of the College at each campus in Stratford and East Ham. It also appears across its social media profiles and the College has produced hundreds of rainbow wrist bands to encourage support for the LGBT+ community.

Newham Borough councillors Tahmina Rahman and Steve Brayshaw joined the chair of Newham College’s LGTB Committee, Olivia Besly and the Principal, Paul Stephen to unveil the rainbow-coloured logo.

Councillor Steve Brayshaw said:
“The rainbow-coloured logo shows Newham College’s continuing commitment to equality and diversity. There is a fantastic inclusive environment within the College where everyone can take part in pushing the equality agenda forward.”

The unveiling of our rainbow-coloured logo underpins our status as the highest ranking Further Education institution in the Stonewall Workplace Equality Index, 2018.  At Newham College we believe that people who can be themselves fully achieve great things both in their own lives and the communities they serve.
