Our 2018/19 level 3 students achieved some wonderful results in their Access to Higher Education Diplomas or BTEC Extended Diplomas. This has allowed them to go on to many excellent university destinations. 78.1% of applications - 1.5% more than the national rate – were accepted and in total, 352 students will begin their degree next year and 12 will be taking up their place next year.

Our students are now studying at institutions across the length and breadth of the UK, including nearly 10% who are attending Russell Group universities.

Figures held up very well for Newham College compared to the national average. They also showed an improvement on our 2017/2018 performance:

  • Application numbers up 17% on 2018 and acceptances up 19% from 2018
  • Acceptance rate of 78.1% is 1.5% higher than the national rate of 76.6%
  • 35 students progressed to Russell Group Universities, 9.6% of the 364 acceptances

We wish each one of them every success and invite each of them to remain in contact through the Future First Alumni Network. www.futurefirst.org.uk allowing them to return to their alma mater to inspire current students onto great things.
