Newham College Celebrates Promising Results

Newham College’s GCSE students were thrilled to get results that are well above the national average.

Pass rates at the College exceeded national figures by 30.1% for GCSE Maths students and GCSE English results also surpassed national figures by 7%.

Delighted staff members congratulated students for similar accomplishments in every other GCSE subject offered at Newham College, including science and humanities-related GCSEs , which exceeded UK figures by 4%.

The overall pass rate has risen by 11.5% since last year and high grades, ranging from A*- C /9 - 4 are up by 6.9%.  One GCSE maths student, Norris Owusu says:

“The course introduced new elements and units that I found interesting and challenging. The teachers are experienced and give relevant and helpful advice, which has really helped me get good GCSE grades.”

The Director of Student Services at Newham College, Clive Ansell says:

“Teaching staff are dedicated to guaranteeing that every student gets the level of support that’s needed to achieve grade C / 4 or above in English and Maths".

This year’s results are particularly good and our Learner Services team is keen to introduce our newest students to all the opportunities that we have to offer.
