Newham College Gains High Employer Rating

The Education & Skills Funding Agency and the Department for Education have released findings, which show that Newham College has achieved an employer satisfaction score of 88%.

Figures from the Further Education Choices Learner and Employer Satisfaction Surveys reveal that this score is 11% higher than the average satisfaction rate of a further education college and exceeds that of many of its neighbouring colleges in London.

The satisfaction survey accounts for both employers' and students’ experiences of their college or training provider. Over 340,000 learners and 60,000 employers across England took part in the most recent, 2016 to 2017, survey.

We’ve had a strong working relationship with Newham College for many years; employing apprentices, hosting events, involving students in real-world competitions and supporting their annual student awards. I’m not surprised that other employers find the College so great to work with. The staff are enthusiastic and professional, and most importantly, they understand how businesses work. As a result, Newham College students are well trained, motivated and ready to get started with their careers.

As a sector, further education has seen positive results from the surveys as:

  • Nearly nine in ten employers were either ‘likely’ or ‘extremely likely’ to recommend their training provider to another employer seeking similar training.
  • Four in five employers were highly satisfied with the overall quality of the training, giving a score of at least 8 out of 10.
  • Seven in ten employers were highly satisfied with their ability to influence the structure, content, delivery and duration of training.

The surveys and results can be viewed in full online.
