Newham College Students Involved In West Ham United’s Players’ Project

Newham students involved in West Ham United’s Players’ Project which sees local homeless people offered vital services and respite from life on the street.

On the 21st of March, our students were invited by West Ham Football Club to participate in the West Ham United’s Players’ Project to provide a helping hand to the local residents of Newham who need it the most. They were accompanied by Players from West Ham’s men’s and women’s first teams, who were also helping to provide food, hairdressing, job support and podiatry services (see here).

Our amazing Hair & Beauty students, all of whom are 16-18, carried out mini manicures and hand massages and represented themselves in a friendly, polite manner to aid the local community who may not get the time or space to be treated as such due to everyday life struggles.

The students who represented Newham College at the Players' Project are:

  • Pameli Zhekova
  • Justina Auglyte
  • Aurimante Delnickaite
  • Valerija Valdena

Thank you all for your hard work and effort, we are really proud of you!

The London Borough of Newham has one of the highest rates of poverty. We are grateful to West Ham FC for opening and continuing this initiative to support local residents and the homeless people of Newham. Truly Inspiring!
