Traineeships are study programmes which are designed to help young people who want to secure an apprenticeship or employment.

Traineeships are professional work skills programmes designed for 16-24 year olds who do not want to take the traditional academic pathway after GCSEs and want to progress to an apprenticeship, paid employment or further study.

A traineeship is designed to give young students the opportunity to gain the basic employability skills, work experience and knowledge needed to secure an Apprenticeship or employment. They are short and intense work programmes which run for about 6 weeks, providing a mixture of in-classroom learning and work experience placement.
