Course content

The course integrates a broad range of modules related to working in a school or college environment.

The modules explored during your course include understanding how to safeguard children and young people, developing professional relationships, supporting positive behaviour and supporting children and young people during learning activities.

This qualification requires collating a portfolio of evidence. All assessments are internally and externally verified through a range of assessment methods. Examples of assessments methods used on this programme include observations, presentations, reports and essays.

Flexibility is provided for any learner with SEN; support is available from the SEN team. The maintenance of high standards is our priority, in order to make the lessons interesting and stimulating for all learners.

Work experience

As part of the programme, you will conduct on going work placements in a school or college environment. This will allow you to apply your theoretical knowledge into a practical work setting.
