Course content

This qualification offers learners the opportunity to develop their technical abilities and design skills in fashion and textiles, over their course of study through a process of critical evaluation, practice and review, which are key skills for progression to higher education.

Using our well-resourced studio spaces this course is taught through lessons and demonstrations of techniques and processes alongside assignments.

The qualification also supports learners to become confident in taking ownership of and responsibility for their projects.

The content of this qualification has been developed in consultation with academics to ensure that it supports progression to higher education. In addition, teachers, employers and professional bodies have been involved and consulted in order to confirm that the content is appropriate and consistent with current practice for those learners who choose to enter employment directly.
